Summary: Randolph Orlando

Chillax. Randy's here

Good old Randy from the Crossbell Police Department's Special Support Section assists Class VII in Trails of Cold Steel 4. His brave order Proud Warrior gives a 20% damage bonus and a hefty strength buff at low cost. Locked into his build is Regulus EX, a fire-elemental quartz sporting great defenses, Craft Point gain when taking damage, a strength buff, and reduced S-Craft delay. He wields a halberd with decent reach so as to counter the pesky foes that would avoid sword counterattacks at melee range. Randolph has a three-line ARCUS II, with a fire and a time slot locked in line 1 and a mandatory fire slot on line 2. Lines 1 and 2 both have three slots so there is potential to include a lot of debuffing abilities on him. Although Regulus EX has high magic strength, it doesn't lend well to Randy's stock warrior-like stats - he has fantastic HP, strength, and defenses. The magic defense lent by it is substantial enough that Randy is better off than most melee units against arts. The crafts in Randy's skillset have great range and devastating debuffs.

Build 1: Kiting Tank

Catch me if you can

Death Storm is a very unique skill in that Randy can move anywhere in a straight line without wasting a turn of dealing damage. His base stats make him a prime candidate for a traditional tank because he can use this skill to effectively draw aggression away from the party. Master Quartz: Line 1: Line 2: Line 3: Randy is one of the few in the cast that can run Aegis without getting obliterated in a matter of seconds because of his incredible HP and defense stats. Not only does it help him serve the purpose of baiting enemies away with Death Storm's movement, but it's also an excellent complement to Regulus EX's inherent attributes. He should be able to make continuous use of the skill or perform S-crafts at a more frequent rate. Never perform War Cry with Aegisunless you are certain the following S-craft will finish the foe - instead, rely on Regulus EX to do its job. Bolstering Randy's HP and defenses are top priorities. Aside from high stat-yield quartz, Deep Ocher, Transparent Pecky Badge, and Grail Locket are fantastic items. Two of the former are excellent. If they are unavailable, Yellow Emblems are fine selections. If you do not run Grail Locket, Randy needs Curia support from his teammates. Musse makes an excellent linked ally for Auto-Curia and Auto-Thelas. While Randy will have Earth Pulse, Adamantine Shield, and La Crest for some sustainability, having an ally with a direct heal spell or food service will be needed in tougher battles. Because Randy's speed is mediocre, he should have a few quartz dedicated to speed enhancement so he can shift aggro away from the team faster - use the highest tiers available, and he should almost always perform before enemies. Fishing for Blue Marlins can make obtaining any tier of Action and building Nohval Gem very quick and easy. Suzaku is preferred for its ability to disable whatever Randy draws away and helps him survive longer fights with less heals, though Mars Gem gives Randy greater damage output and is more appropriate when enemies are immune to seal.
